downhill journey...

... of BF.

She didn't BF today, nor yesterday. Not even early morning, not even before sleep during her groggy period.

My mistake, is not pumping.
Mon (18/5) pumped once at work
Tues - went home lunch time, but she did not BF
Wed - took afternoon off, took her to paeds, also did not BF
Thurs - whole day away&did not pump, NO MORE NIGHT FEVER&slept through the night
Fri/Sat/Sun - BF less, slept through the night
Mon (25/5) - BF early morning, night. Pumped 2oz evening
Tues - no BF. Pumped NIL!
Wed - no BF. Pumped<1oz

The day hasn't ended, but she took her first nap at 3pm, and she fell asleep at 8.30pm, in my arms! Got tired learning about preposition with mommy.

The often heard but misleading “rule” that a sentence should not end with a preposition is transferred from Latin, where it is an accurate description of practice. But English grammar is different from Latin grammar, and the rule does not fit English. In speech, the final preposition is normal and idiomatic, especially in questions:
What are we waiting for? Where did he come from? You didn't tell me which floor you worked on. In writing, the problem of placing the preposition arises most when a sentence ends with a relative clause in which the relative pronoun (that; whom; which; whomever; whichever; whomsoever) is the object of a preposition. In edited writing, especially more formal writing, when a pronoun other than that introduces a final relative clause, the preposition usually precedes its object: He abandoned the project to which he had devoted his whole life. I finally telephoned the representative with whom I had been corresponding. If the pronoun is that, which cannot be preceded by a preposition, or if the pronoun is omitted, then the preposition must occur at the end: The librarian found the books that the child had scribbled in. There is the woman he spoke of.

Uh oh.. am very sorry to hear this. Allah knows best. BF 1month, 1yrs, 2yrs, 6yrs (LOL) the bond will last forever InsyaAllah.

My brains must have switched off.. I read and re read the thing u write about preposition and I can't understand at all.. haha

  2. CuppyCakeMommy Says:

    never give up..never surrender ok..

  3. Unknown Says:

Hanim, I may not be the best person to advise or console you because so far my longest BF journey is with Zuleyka now (nearly 12mths). Before that it was only 8mths with Armand, 6 months with Izzo and Amsyar too. Before, I wasnt that strong to continue with BF-ing, tak sabar pun ya & mcm2 alasan. So I tabik lah u because you've done A LOT in order to ensure that Arianna is exclusively breastfed...e.g. expressing at work, angkut breastpump sana sini sampai jadi best friend..so give yourself a pat on the back for that :)

  4. Hanim Says:

CCM thank you. Perseverence is the key!

Millie... they weaned off on their own? Ramai tgh nak wean off anak, bukan anak sendiri takmau BF, right Liz?

In grammar, a preposition is a part of speech that introduces a prepositional phrase. For example, in the sentence "The cat sleeps on the sofa", the word "on" is a preposition, introducing the prepositional phrase "on the sofa". In English, the most used prepositions are "of", "to", "in", "for", "with" and "on". Simply put, a preposition indicates a relation between things mentioned in a sentence

Liz... dok ajar off, under, on... dia tau out, up je.

  6. ZOORA Says:

Hi hanim. .. masa i stopped BF i dindt realize this. but actually it is all my fault... masa zahraa tak nak BF, I pumped less.. then the supply goes low.. I pumped less... then suddenly i notice oh no!!!! no milk... later after that only i knew, that when they refuse to BF, we have to pump more.. when supply goes down, we hav to pump more and more..
please dont make my mistake ok.. keep on pumpin'

  7. Unknown Says:

Hmmmm..I think it was a bit of both la Hanim. With me being the main culprit..? Dulu2 (masa kerja) memang ntah kenapa mentality "kena bagi FM kat baby bila dah habis cuti bersalin". Ada jugak I pump, but i had a small battery-operated pump so mcm kurang motivated lah. And also I think because my mom BF us until 6-7 months only..so her exposure pun sama mcm I dulu lahh. EXCEPT my youngest sis..she had ezcema so fully BF. Tersangat lah "exclusive" nya sampai 3 tahun lebih pun dia nak jugak! So my mom had to put lipstick or something on her nipple :D "adui mama sakit ni tgk dah daraaaahh".

  8. Hanim Says:

@Zoora...oh Zahraa on FM? SInce when? This girl takmau FM...tu yg susah hati.

@Millie... my mom pun tak BF lama. My sis pun campur je BF, FM but they BF way past 2yo. Adei... I je EBF, so now pening pulak bila dia tak BF. Nak pam... dok melekat je dgn I. Tido pun kejap sgt.
