no chicken please

This chicken broccoli fried rice is a total failure. No matter how small I chopped the chickens up, Arianna just would not take it. Or maybe she's not into rice at the moment?

diaper cake

This was for the little princess in the previous post. It's a diaper cake, as opposed to the usual big hamper-style. We forgot to snap pics with lil Puteri and mommy Dina *silly us*. Arianna was totally fascinated with the baby, and was happily munching biskut?kerepek bawang. She must be teething again.

little princess

We'd be going to see this lil princess in the morning. Wonder how Arianna would react to a newborn?

books books books

Arianna's own bookcase.

Since she has shown interest in books (finally, you might say), we added more books. She had her cloth books, board books, flip books, pop-up books, foam books and an electronic book. Added more big books like picture dictionaries, ABC, story books, activity books. Apparently we share the same interest; the pop-up books, Mr. Men books and a Winnie the Pooh book were from my own collection. I bought it in Dublin (and got some as gifts).. that was way back in 2000-2001. Bookworm mommy?!

First Day of School

I wonder what went through her mind?

After the morning outdoor play, she got settled in for morning snack, activities, lunch and outdoor play while waiting for pick up time (of course I was there throughout). I think she can get used to this routine. She was reluctant to go home... I take it as a good sign. Hope for a good day tomorrow :-)

tick tock tick tock

Since we're maidless after 10 months, I realise efficiency is an overrated virtue. I'd rather spend quality time with Arianna and quality studying rather than quantity studying (which nothing stays in). I rather have Arianna enjoy her activities rather than cramping too much just to make up for the the hours I'm away at work. So, take leave to spend time with your kids :-)

Yesterday's agenda:

  • pilates
  • went to old office for some paperwork
  • carwash/ lunch
  • watch her sleep
  • afternoon snack
  • went to the park
  • dinner
  • bath
  • playtime with daddy
  • war time i.e. brushing teeth
  • sleep
So yay to me for taking a day off. I woke up at 4.45am rejuvenated! Urgh but going to class today is just gonna diss it away. Have a good week people.

more on lasik

0D287V Black gray gradient lens

More on my experience on lasik:

Optimax offered free check up, and they found that I was suitable for tissue saving intralasik due to my high astigmatism (300+!) and that cost RM3200/eye. Some are lucky and they can go for cheaper option. Of course they let you decide, but I agreed with their suggestion.

I did the op the very next day. They provided withe pre and post procedure instruction and a medical kit containing sterile artificial tears, eyedrops (antifungal/steroids).  U can't drive after that, plus u can't really see after that... sunglasses please!

It's done under sterile condition, with the laser burning... it smells like burning flesh. To my fellow healthcare workers: smells like when diathermy burns the skin/ muscle *yummy bbq smell*. It stings like h311 for few hours afterwards, but later that night I was already back to my normal life. They'd give 3 days MC, then life goes on. Had a follow up the next day, the very next week and a month later.

Alif Baa Taa song

A song she shares with Tok Wan. I played this and automatically she ran out of the room to find her grampa.

lasik

Optimax - New Vision New Life!
Following my previous post... I guess there are many people asking about lasik. Hehe I'm not much about promoting, but if you guys do go for it... mention that Dr. Hanim M. Taha told you about it yeah? A few doctor friends of mine have gone to them (different branches, all good results).

I knew about it when I was working in HUKM. I did pay a visit to the Shah Alam outlet when I was working in Klang Hospital. But it was during December 2006-February 2007 that I finally got serious about it.

  • May 2005- toyed with the idea... but no eye makeup for 1 month, oh no it was close to my wedding.
  • December 2006- Flood in Johor. I'm helpless without my specs, so how to berkhidmat untuk masyarakat.
  • February 2007- habis pantang, finally had the 'tissue savung intralasik' since I was still on confinement leave.
  • March- April 2007- Not perfect results, can do the 2nd lasik, but lo and behold I was pregnant.

I botched the lasik:
- Post delivery December 2006, hormones are probably not stable yet? But they said it was okay already, but different people have different reaction.
- Pregnant again, then continued to breastfeed. Hormonal issues again.

Ok so now I've stopped breastfeeding for 6 months after Arianna self weaned. Time for me to consider 2nd lasik. Optimax offers 'free for life' program. They'll do corrections if your power is not satisfactory. Unless you develop prebysopia.

www.azgiftbaskets.com.my by http://soho-mama.blogspot.com

Excuse my title... but it's just that soho-mama was so catchy that I was expecting a Londoner blogging. And Millie is one creative lady with baskets to die for! I guess my social life died as I got busier with work and family. Started blogging and blog hopping and met few blogger friends too. Sharing similar passion for BW, CD, BF.. guess I could relate to Millie despite coming from different background (me, a servant to the government, she's a tai tai, no la she a hardworking WAHM).

tag of the eye

1. Sejak bila anda mula berkaca mata ??
Darjah 2

2. Bagaimana anda tahu yang anda memerlukan kacamata ketika itu?
Susah nak baca music note masa kelas muzik

3. Berapa ‘power’ pada permulaan anda berkaca mata
Almost 200... ish ni kes budak kecik tak tau komplen

4. Jenis/bentuk kaca mata and yang pertama
Haha sure plastic frame, yang besar dan nerdy

5. Jenis/bentuk kaca mata anda yang terkini
Part time using half frame

6. Berapa power terkini anda ?
Less than 100, hehe I've done lasik back in 2007.

7. Berapa banyak koleksi kaca mata yang anda ada dari dulu hingga kini
10, or more? Entah rasanya average every 2 years tukar

8. Jika anda ada sentiment tidak suka berkaca mata sepeti saya, sila nyatakan sebab musabab
Lasik dah buat, but still ada sikit power yang kacau bila buat fine detail work i.e. writing patient's notes, reporting xray/CT scan. Since tak sempat buat 2nd lasik, pakai je la specs. It's a fashion accessory.

9. Yang mana anda lebih gemar. Kaca mata atau contact lens? Kenapa ?
Depends on the situation. Tengah aktiviti lasak takyah pakai specs. Tapi gi keje pakai specs, ala ala Clark Kent and Superman.

10. Opto pilihan?
Menara Optical kat TTDI. Plus dia across the road from Optimax :p

11. Pasangan anda berkaca mata ?
Yup, dia yang cakap specs ni fashion accessory.. so if bayar ratus almost ribu RM.... tau la kenapa.

Sapa nak tag? Sapa rajin sila la ye. Thanks Hanz for the tag.

we're away

... just for a 2D1N. Daddy and lil girl's day out - swimming, playing, eating.....while mommy sits in the room studying for exam :(

caesar salad

Arianna likes caesar salad. Imagine our disappointment when Monte's in BSC served us this! Wilted salad... I think they could've just run down to the supermarket downstairs and get fresher stuff *hmphh*

So far, she approves salads from:
  • Italiannies
  • Yogi Tree
  • Tony Roma
  • Vivo
  • MFM
  • Chili's
