cloth diapering : Gro Baby AI2

How does Gro Baby work?

What is the Gro Baby Diapering System?
Gro Baby is a modern, one-size diapering system. Its unique, waterproof shell and organic cotton soaker pad minimizes waste and cost. When the soaker pad is wet, simply replace with a fresh, dry one!

How does Gro Baby work?
Gro Baby is designed so that the outer shells may be used for multiple diaper changes. If the soaker pad is wet, simply snap in a fresh one and you are ready to go. If the shell is wet, allow it to air dry and use for the next diaper change. When your Gro Baby Shell is soiled or very saturated, start fresh with a new Gro Baby Shell. Most Gro Baby System users will find that using 2-4 Gro Baby Shells are enough per day, although newborn babies may need more.
How does the one-size feature on my Gro Baby work?
Gro Baby will fit MOST babies from 8-35 lbs. The Gro Baby Shell features three sets of rise snaps that adjust to fit your baby. Our unique one-size Organic Soaker Pad fits from 8-35 lbs as well.
Newborn/Small Infant Setting: Snap your Gro Baby Shell rise snaps on the lowest setting. Snap your soaker pad into the shell and simply flip the front of the soaker pad in towards baby. Fastened diaper on baby.
Infant Setting: Snap your Gro Baby Shell rise snaps on the middle setting. Snap your soaker pad into the shell. Tuck the front of your soaker pad down, while pulling the front panel up and fasten on baby.
Toddler Setting: Leave your Gro Baby Shell rise snaps unsnapped. Snap your soaker pad into the shell and fasten on baby.

How to care for your Gro Baby Diapering System?
First and foremost it is important to wash and dry your Organic Cotton Soaker Pads at least 3-5 times prior to use. They will not be fully absorbent for up to 10 washes. Laundry Day: You will find that your laundry loads will be a third of the size of your regular laundry loads!
Your Gro Baby Shell and Soaker Pads can be washed together on warm with ½ the recommend amount of detergent
A second rinse will leave your diaper squeaky clean
While your Gro Baby Shells can be tumbled dry, we HIGHLY recommend line drying your shells. They will dry in less than two hours and will stay nice longer
Gro Baby Organic Soaker Pads can be tumbled dried
This may seem obvious but, whiteners, bleach, vinegar, enzyme cleaners and fabric softeners are not your diaper’s friends and will void all warranties.

How to avoid leaks with your Gro Baby System?
First and foremost your Gro Baby Soaker Pads must be washed and dried on hot 3-5 times prior to use. Keep in mind that they will NOT reach their maximum absorbency for up to 10 washes.
Gro Baby’s Organic Cotton Soaker Pads while very absorbent do not contain the SAP (super absorbent polymer) gels that make disposable diapers hold ridiculous amounts of liquid. This means you should plan on changing baby every two hours.
For naps, nights, car trips and older babies we highly recommend adding a Gro Baby Booster to increase absorbency without adding much bulk.
Refrain from using petroleum based diaper balms as this coat your Organic Cotton Soaker Pads affecting their ability to absorb liquid. A good alternative is Magic Stick.

*Just a note to myself on how to care for Arianna's new CD. DH offered to go over to Tiny Tapir's new shop in Ampang Park! Was quite reluctant to go at first, thinking of my sleeping baby (snugly in MT). Of course he insisted we go anyway. I have a great hubby or what?
*Hanz, u bought the purple/blackberry one? Seriously??

    Hanim...this one is so irresistable..

But I have more than enough already and I should just use my 4th DD CDs (currently still on fully CD) to my 5th DD, if I really want to be frugal.

Hmm...apasal lah zaman I start CD-ing dulu takde brand camni

Now I currently bored with how my maid stuffed the pocket CDs (not up to my expectation) so I thought of getting more AIO/AI2...

But not sure it is wise for me to do it now...

    Have fun CD-ing

  2. Hanim Says:

    Thanks K.Faridah.. didn't know u read my blog :D

Yeah, to live frugally, must really consider things that u buy. I now have 1 0 CDs, and I think pretty soon it'll pay itself. I've saved so much dispos despite starting only at 1 year of age.

Hanim, I bought the Mandarin one. I would always opt for bright colours, he, he.

I did'nt dare tell hubby the price u know, he was in the car with the boys & he 'perli' me coz I took so long..I try to hide the 'purchase' but he can see it so when he questioned me how much I've spent? I said, please don't ask...It's becoz this month alone, I bought 2 HH Cds from Lil Danzell plus 3 leggings, another 1 legging & 4 tights from other Biz Moms, plus 2 preloved diapers from Millie...

I 'hate' being in Tiny Tapir coz I can go pengsan looking at those CDs. LOL

    Hellooo ladies...!

So ok tak Grobaby ni? I dont have a lot of AI2, because I have this habit of just using it as a normal pocket diaper i.e. chucking everything into wetbag after baby wets it. Tak guna pun shell dgn soaker lain. Tapi kalau diaper cover, I lap2 pulak..(??)

BTW I just saw the price..aiyooo..!! Tapi OS, and I think it's the hookd & loop system, right? I like. Most OS use only snaps. Jamtots Berry Plush AI2 also the same price as this, but sized. So I think this is good. Tangan I gatal ler nak click buy now LOL!!

  5. Hanim Says:

Er don't think i's hook and look, just straight fwd velcro... mcm sposies (CD otai must correct me). Mine are all snaps before this.

I have 1 more wash to do till I can use it. I've done 2 normal washes, coz WM doesn't have hot wash function.

    (so skema la me)

  6. Anonymous Says:

Hook & loop is what they call the diaper with these velcro closure (hmmmm I think lah, from what I read on the description of such diapers)..eventhough I have diapers with snaps too, velcro is still my fave.

My WM pun takde hot wash. Takpe, sabar2, basuh lagi dan lagi :)

    interesting info n nice blog...
i think of giving a try to CD.

  8. Hanz Jamaludin Says:

Hanim, I've done 2 washing also & cannot wait to wear it on Hambali. What color u got?

Millie, we will give review later on...he,he.

I love velcro but Hambali likes to unfasten it sometimes, don't fancy snaps either coz not daycare-friendly or Opah-friendly. (last weekend his Opah only snap the one button at the front flap, so the flap tu jadi terkeluar. I dah balik baru perasan, naperlah CD anak aku londeh sangat.tsk, tsk)

  9. Hanim Says:

Hanz...mandarin=orange... same like urs la kan? Wow byknya u shopping this month :)

Millie...still blur with the terms... all I know I started with fitted, than AI2 ke AIO (my IBs tu)

Lieyn... do research on it :) I started coz my baby was getting nappy rash at 11months old.
