seasonal fruit: mangosteen

I'm no big fan of seasonal fruits, except for durian. It gets very frustrating if I cannot get the fruit all year round. Arianna, being anak baba@cucu Tok Wan on the other hand, loves most of the seasonal fruits. She tried durian at 1 year old, and have tried duku-langsat, mango, rambutan and latest: mangosteen.

She ate 8 on Saturday, We had to go and buy more for her to eat on Sunday. It was yummy, I'd have to say. I missed out for not having a real kampung with a dusun when I was younger, even most Raya we were in KL *sob sob sob*.

Here's a picture on DH's birthday. Fruits triumph over chocolates for her - kiwi, mango, banana, strawberries on the platter (can't say the same about DH though haha)

This is the boring non-artsy-mom activity with her. I teach her ABCs using playmats, wooden blocks, pencils, crayons, markers, poster colour. She likes it when I make the sound of a letter.. like: M is mmmm mmm mm MOMMY :)

a struggle...

.. with meds. Giving salbutamol 'Ventolin' inhaler is like a wrestling match. Being a lil kid, she has to use it with an aerochamber... it's difficult to even teach an adult patient how to coordinate breathing and pressing the inhaler. Montelukast 'Singulair' powder is easier as we can put it in her drink.

Oh yeah... she doesn't/ can't take cough meds, thus when she coughs, it'll get really bad. I haven't even found a suitable flu meds for her. Promethazine and cetirizine doesn't work...just makes her runny nose even more runny a.k.a. rhinitis medicamentosa.

This was our situation 2 weeks back few days after coming back from PD, thus the quiet blog. She missed whole week of school last week. This week, seems she's gonna have 100% attendance *yay*.
